Finance Club
The purpose of the À¦°óSMÉçÇø Finance Club is to introduce our members to various aspects and perspectives of finance and the financial community not offered in class. The club focuses on issues such as efficient investment planning, options and futures, and the organization and future of financial institutions in Canada.
The club has regular meetings with guest speakers from the Chartered Financial Analyst Association and other prominent representatives of the business community. The Finance Club offers other activities including a New York Stock Exchange trip, a Network to meet business professionals, and our Annual Business Luncheon.
In the 1992-1993 year we have also looked for new activities to offer our members. We are attempting to organize a series of financial debates to discuss important financial issues in Canada, and throughout the world. Our Financial Newsletter has been expanded and now circulates throughout the university.
The 1992-1993 executives of the À¦°óSMÉçÇø Finance Club are:
Firas Akkawi — President
Brenda Consalvo — VP Executive
James Ma — VP Finance
Antonio Boggia — VP External
Fatima Leung — VP Internal
Sheri Doyle VP Special Projects

Faculty of Management
I would like to take this opportunity to mention that the tremendous spirit which your class has shown has made a geniune [sic] contribution to the growing reputation of our Faculty. The number and variety of activities which the MUS and other student groups organize and the enthusiasm you have shown continue to impress me. I am sure that these activities have also forged many friendships and have contributed to your education, as well.
In the past few years, I have offered our graduates two suggestions for their consideration. First, I have emphasized that, while important, education alone will not guarantee success, or even survival in today’s rough marketplace. Secondly, I have pointed out something which most business leaders and entrepreneurs seem to agree on, that success I the management field is largely based on individual motivation and a willingness to work hard. For your class, I would like to reiterate these two points and add that increasing competitiveness in the work environment means that you must be even better prepared and more tenacious in order to meet the challenges you will face.
I hope that you will preserve your ties with À¦°óSMÉçÇø’s Faculty of Management in the years to come. On behalf of the entire faculty, I would like to extend our best wishes for your future happiness and success.
