Tabitha Sparks

TABITHA SPARKS is an Associate Professor in the Department of English and the Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Arts, as well as an Associate Scholar in the Social Studies of Medicine.聽聽She focuses on the 19th C British novel, narrative theory, literature and medicine, and feminist narratology, and her publications include聽A City Girl聽by Margaret Harkness (Ed.) (2017),聽Victorian Medicine and Popular Culture聽(co-edited with Louise Penner) (2015),聽The Doctor in the Victorian Novel: Family Practices聽(2009),听The Bront毛s: A Critical Companion聽(Ed.) (2008); contributions to publications including聽Blackwell鈥檚 Companion to the Bront毛s, Blackwell鈥檚 Companion to Sensation Fiction,聽Women鈥檚 Writing,聽Victorian Literature and Culture,聽Hektoen,聽Narrative,聽Journal of Narrative Theory,聽Cultural Studies, and numerous edited collections.聽聽She has received fellowships and grants from The Dickens Project,聽Nines聽(Networked Infrastructure for 19th C Studies), Emory University, FQRSC, and the NEH. She is the representative for Canada at the Centre for Nineteenth-Century Studies International (Durham, UK).
