Dear colleagues,
On June 2nd, I stepped down after having served seven years as President of MURA: initially as interim President, followed by two three-year terms. I was pleased to pass on the baton to our colleague, Ante L. Padjen, with my best wishes of success.
At the AGM that day, I was surprised to receive an outpouring of messages from many of you, thanking me and wishing me well. I was deeply touched by these heartwarming and appreciative messages from friends, colleagues, as well as several of you whom I have yet to have the pleasure of meeting.
Now, it is my turn to thank YOU for your enthusiastic participation in creating a thriving association of À¦°óSMÉçÇø retirees. Without your engagement and support, MURA would not exist. Thank you to the coordinators of activities and all the volunteers who contribute their talents in so many ways. I am particularly happy that you have responded so well to the variety of events, information sessions, and other activities offered. MURA plans to continue, and even expand, the scope of activities to meet your needs to keep physically, mentally, and socially engaged. Retirement is such an enriching part of our lives, ²Ô’e²õ³Ù-³¦±ð-±è²¹²õ?
The pandemic has provided an opportunity to reach out virtually to an even larger number of À¦°óSMÉçÇø retirees beyond Montreal – indeed across Canada. The hybrid program developed over the last 18 months will continue in virtual and in-person formats, as appropriate.
What I am most proud of is that retirees now exist as a highly valued group within the larger À¦°óSMÉçÇø Community. This is a great achievement that we accomplished together.
Many thanks again for your warm wishes. I will continue to be involved on the Executive and Board as Past President and look forward to seeing you soon at MURA’s events.
Keep safe and well!
Cordially,
Ginette
Past President MURA-ARUM
