Admissions Process

Note:

Regardless of the program that you are applying to, you must find a supervisor by yourself.听No student will be accepted into the program without a supervisor.

The Department of Mining and Materials Engineering is fostering research excellence in various areas of the Materials Science and Engineering and Mining Engineering disciplines. The Department is an internationally recognized research-intensive hub, where students and scholars are partnering with industrial collaborators in pursuing exciting innovative research in state-of-the-art laboratories.听

Requirements

All degrees require English proficiency.

Masters of Engineering (Project)

  1. Hold a Bachelor鈥檚 degree (B.Eng. or B.Sc.) or equivalent in a technical field.
  2. A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 for entire undergraduate program or for 3.2/4.0 for the last two, full-time years in your undergraduate program.

Masters of Engineering (Thesis)

  1. Hold a Bachelor鈥檚 degree (B.Eng. or B.Sc.) or equivalent in a technical field.
  2. A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 for entire undergraduate program or for 3.2/4.0 for the last two, full-time years in your undergraduate program.

Masters of Science (Thesis)

  1. Hold a Bachelor鈥檚 degree (B.Eng. or B.Sc.) or equivalent in a technical field.
  2. A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 for entire undergraduate program or for 3.2/4.0 for the last two, full-time years in your undergraduate program.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

  1. A minimum GPA of 3.2/4.0 in a Masters program and 3.0/4.0 for entire undergraduate program.
  2. Except in special cases for highly-qualified B.Sc. or B. Eng. degree holders, applicants should hold a Masters degree in a relevant field.


NOTE: The GRE is NOT a requirement for your application
