Co-op

What is Co-operative Education?

Co-operative education is Work Integrated Learning. Students in the Materials Engineering Co-op program complete three, 4-month-long, paid work-terms in research and industrial settings worldwide. During these work terms, students perform聽technical engineering work and submit required assignments, for which they receive two university credits, a letter grade and a formal evaluation by the employer.

Our program, accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB), emphasizes a spectrum of working experiences. During work terms聽students have the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge acquired in class while聽gaining professional skills to help them become professional engineers.
