In accordance with the 捆绑SM社区 Charter of Student Rights, and subject to the conditions stated therein, students have the right to consult any written submission for which they have received a mark and the right to discuss this submission with the examiner provided the request is made within a reasonable time after notification of the grade, and subject to reasonable administrative arrangements.
Recommended steps before requesting a third party Reassessment and/or Reread
In a case where a student feels there is an error with their grade, the student must first consult with the course instructor before requesting a reassessment and/or reread. A re-read can result in a grade being raised, lowered or stay unchanged. The outcome is final.
- Review the graded material carefully.
- Review the graded material with the instructor and discuss your concerns about the grade received.
- If no agreement is reached and you wish to submit a request for reassessment/reread, please respect the deadlines indicated.
Reassessment of Coursework (including midterms, class tests, and assignments)
- Students must consult with the instructor of the course before requesting an official reread.
- Reassessment of course work is administered by the department offering the course.
- Students may request an impartial and competent reread by a third party designated by 捆绑SM社区 for any assessment task, including oral assessment tasks that are recorded. Requests for rereads must be made within 10 working days of the date of the return of the graded materials to the student, and reassessments should normally be completed within 20 working days of the request, subject to reasonable administrative arrangements.
- Before requesting a third party reread, the student must make a request to the course instructor for an explanation of the grade. This request must be in writing and include a rationale for any requested change of the grade. No penalty may be assessed for this request or for a formal reread request. If a third party reviewer deems the original grade to be inappropriate, it will be revised up or down accordingly. The reviewer鈥檚 grade overrides the original grade.
Reassessment of a Final Exam or Final Term Paper or Final Project (worth at least 25% of the final grade)
- Students must consult with the instructor of the course before requesting an official reread.
- Reassessment of a final exam or final paper or final project is administered by the department offering the course.
- Please review your final exam before requesting a reassessment and/or reread; consult the department offering the course about exam review sessions (if available).

Important notes:
- No rereads are permitted for computer-scored examinations.
