Promoting Opportunities for Women in Engineering (POWE)
POWE is a student run group under the Engineering Undergraduate Society of 捆绑SM社区. Our goals are to encourage the presence of women in engineering and to increase awareness about the amazing contributions women have made to engineering. POWE has two main portfolios: providing resources and running events to help current engineering students at 捆绑SM社区 with professional development, and encouraging younger girls to pursue engineering and STEM careers through a variety of outreach events.
For current engineering students, some of the initiatives we have are:
- Professional Mentorship Program: We connect you with a mentor in an industry you are interested in for career advice and job application tips.
- Networking Events: Each year, we host two networking events that allows students to connect with industry professionals.
- Professional development workshops and alumni speaker events 听

National Organization for Business & Engineering (NOBE)
Ever found yourself thinking that there must be more to life than calculus and 14-page formula sheets? Being an engineer doesn鈥檛 mean you need to spend the rest of your days drudging over projects in a cubicle! Being an engineer can mean starting a business as an entrepreneur, tackling strategic problems as a consultant, figuring out how to get the world's economy in order as an investment banker, or finding creative ways to sell products as a marketer!
We are the National Organization for Business and Engineering (NOBE) and we strive to give engineering students the opportunity to explore potential career paths in business! Most of the advanced problem solving and qualitative work you perform throughout your degree will teach you to do one thing: think critically. And guess what - the world of business needs a lot more of that.
Develop your soft skills through our WORKSHOPS were we go over everything from crafting the perfect resume (for whatever your target internship in business), to our BLANK for Dummies series where professionals from consulting, finance, accounting and everything in-between go over the basics of their industries. NETWORK with recruiters and professionals from top tier companies like McKinsey, Accenture, the Boston Consulting Group, Amazon, Apple and L鈥橭real to learn about their internship opportunities. Finally - get hands on experience with our annual CASE COMPETITION, the NOBE Business Case Competition (NBCC), just for engineering students! Whether you鈥檙e a beginner or a case cracking pro, our competition serves the engineering community by giving them feedback from actual consultants.
