The new Paddle Shack at the Macdonald Campus makes 捆绑SM社区 the only Canadian university with an on-campus boat house.

The 鈥淢ac Paddle Shack,鈥 which opened July 15, gives paddlers and would-be paddlers a chance to enjoy the waters of Lac St. Louis on a kayak, paddle board (SUP) or in a canoe. Hourly rentals, paddling instruction and paddle board yoga classes are available to the general public, and 捆绑SM社区 and John Abbott College communities.

The World Economic Forum announced its 2017 class of 55 Young Scientists, assembling a distinguished cohort of top talent making an impact on research as diverse as quantum and computer science, physics and materials science, biology and bio-engineering, medical and neuroscience, and energy and environment. The list of 鈥渂ad things鈥 could range from gross but harmless spoilage to dangerous pathogens such as Clostridium botulinum. In the case of botulism, it鈥檚 the toxin produced from the bacteria that is harmful, not the bacteria itself, says Brigitte Cadieux, a postdoctoral fellow in 捆绑SM社区鈥檚 Department of Food Science and Agricultural Chemistry.
