Workshop: Statistical Network Analysis in R
Workshop Overview:聽A gentle introduction to the statistical analysis of network data, largely through the lens of the R package聽igraph. Topics to be covered include basic definitions and concepts in networks, manipulation and visualization of network data, and tools for describing network characteristics (including a brief look at node clustering, aka 鈥榗ommunity detection鈥�). Material will be drawn largely from Chs 1-4 of Kolaczyk and Csardi (2020),聽Statistical Analysis of Network Data in R, 2nd听贰诲颈迟颈辞苍.

路 Learners should already be comfortable with loading, manipulating, and visualizing standard data types in R. CDSI offers an聽聽on Tuesday, January 9th 2024.
路 Install R and RStudio on your computer. You can find installation instructions聽here. Please contact us (cdsi.science [at] mcgill.ca) if you are having trouble with installation.
路 You need to bring your own laptop for this workshop. Contact us if you would like to attend but it's impossible for you to bring a laptop.
