Poster or Oral Abstract Topics
Abstract topics should focus on the environmental dimension of AMR, including in agri-food settings, in water and waste management, and in wildlife.Ìý We invite authors to share information about activities and projects related to antimicrobial resistance in a broad range of areas including research, education, and policy. Authors considering a One Health approach to AMR are strongly encouraged to submit an abstract.ÌýÌý

- Integrated surveillance along the One Health continuum
- AMR genetics, evolution, and selection/maintenance in various environmental reservoirs
- Environmental policies and regulations to reduce discharge of antimicrobials and mitigate AMR
- Novel/emerging approaches to mitigate AMR dissemination
- Threat and risk assessment approaches
- One Health AMR biosecurity and agriculture
- Bioinformatics and artificial intelligence to inform AMR control policies
- Resistances to antifungals and other antimicrobials
- Methods for characterising AMR within One Health: complementarity of phenotyping, genotyping and metagenomics
- AMR and the world's polycrisis: sustainable development, climate change, conflicts, migratory/refugee movements, chemical pollution, and others
- Economics of AMR mitigation through environmental actions
- AMR science and policy communication
Abstract Requirements
- The online abstract submission process has a word limit set to a maximum of 300 words per abstract. This does not include author’s names and affiliations.
- Title: Create a title that concisely and accurately portrays the content of the abstract (150 characters maximum).Ìý
- Please use the following subtitles in your abstract:
- Background and Aim: Clearly state the purpose of the work and its specific objectives.Ìý
- Procedure/Method: Describe the procedures/activities or methodology used to conduct the work.
- Findings/Results: Summarize key findings or important results that you wish to share with colleagues in a clear and concise manner. Where results warrant, provide reasonable conclusions that related back to the study purpose/objectives.
- Implications/Applications: Clearly state how the outcomes and potential applications are pertinent to this audience.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
- Final abstracts must be submitted via the submission website by deadlines listed above.
- Abstracts must be submitted in the English language.
- Presenting author must complete the conflict of interest disclosure section in the profile tab.
- Presenting author must certify that all authors have agreed to submission of the abstract.
Submitting an Abstract
To submit an abstract, click on the following link:ÌýÌý
Once on the website, follow the instructions to register or sign in. You will then be provided instructions on how to submit abstracts. You may log into the submission platform at any time to view or edit your abstract(s) up until submission. Once submitted, no edits are possible.
Abstract Review Process
- The Abstract Review Committee will do a blind review of submitted abstracts. At least two reviewers will grade and comment on each abstract. Ties and discrepancies will be resolved by the committee Chair.ÌýÌý
- Abstracts focused solely on a description of the gut microbiome of human or animals will be considered out of scope.
- An abstract will not be accepted if it is commercial in nature, aimed solely at promoting a commercial product or service.
- An abstract that presents only speculative results will not be considered.Ìý
- Notification of acceptance or rejection of abstracts will be sent to all authors by February 1, 2024.
Conference Registration
If your abstract is accepted for poster and oral presentation, at least one authorÌýmust register for and attend the full in-person/on-site conference (May 26-31, 2024).ÌýThis registration must occur before February 15, 2024.ÌýVisit the EDAR7 registration page.
