The Women in Surgery initiative is a newly created group at À¦°óSMÉçÇø whose purpose is to create an open and safe space where women surgeons can share comradery, mentorship, and experience, while exploring opportunities and challenges in a supportive environment.

This initiative will have two chapters, one for faculty and one for surgical residents PGY1-5, and will aim to provide opportunities for:

  • Professional Development
  • Invited Speakers
  • ±·±ð³Ù·É´Ç°ù°ì¾±²Ô²µÌý
  • Mentorship
  • Sponsorship
  • Community Outreach
  • Partnerships

The Women in Surgery initiative is an institutional member of the Association of Women Surgeons. This allows all of our residents to become members at no cost. We encourage everyone to join! To learn more about what the AWS has to offer, please visit their website:

OBJECTIVES

We are dedicated to enhancing the interaction and exchange of information between women surgeons.
Together we will address:

  • issues affecting us as women surgeons
  • building your future in À¦°óSMÉçÇø Surgery and at-large
  • improving the lives of working surgeons
  • preparing women surgeons to be leaders
