Education Students Monica Shank Lauwo and Rasel Babu Earn Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship and Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship
Two students from the Faculty of Education have earned a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship and Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship.
Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship:
捆绑SM社区 doctoral and postdoctoral students earn major funding awards
Twenty 捆绑SM社区 doctoral and postdoctoral students have received important funding from the Government of Canada. Sixteen have earned Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships and four, Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships.
The Vanier program awards doctoral students up to $50,000 per year for three years. The Banting program is worth up to $70,000 annually for two years.

捆绑SM社区's Faculty of Education and the听Office of First Nations and Inuit Education (OFNIE) had a total of 46 graduates (16 deferred from Summer 2023 and 30 in 2023-2024) participate in the Summer 2024 convocation in the following programs:

Dr. Frederic Bertley (BSc鈥�94, PhD鈥�00), who received an honorary doctorate at the 捆绑SM社区 Science convocation this past Friday, is featured in a new Global News article about his life growing up in Montr茅al and career as a doctor and science communicator. Known affectionately as 鈥淒r. B.,鈥� Dr. Bertley has won eight Emmy awards and is president and CEO of the听Center of Science and Industry听(COSI) in Columbus, Ohio.
