Cancer is a devastating disease that requires keeping abreast of the latest research developments. The chronic myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are new types of cancers unknown to many family physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals.

Module 2: Latest update on Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) Dr. John M. Storring

Overall Learning Objectives

By the end of this mini-course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the etiology of MPN and MDS;
  • Examine the pathogenesis of MPN and MDS;
  • Explain the screening for MPN and MDS;
  • Describe the diagnosis of MPN and MDS;
  • Explain therapies for the treatment of MPN and MDS;
  • Identify criteria for appropriate referral.

Course Overview

- Two certified course modules totaling 5 hours (2.5 hours per module);

- You may complete one or both modules in any order;

- Modules are certified until July 31, 2023;

- Each module includes:

  • Case-based pre- and post-tests;
  • On demand video presentation;
  • An opportunity to ask questions to our experts;
  • Supporting downloadable materials;
  • An opportunity to contribute to an educational research study;
  • Available exclusively in English.
