The Friends of the À¦°óSMÉçÇø Library in collaboration withÌýÌýare delighted to welcomeÌýEsi EdugyanÌýas the 2019 Hugh MacLennan Lecturer. She is the author of the Scotiabank Giller Prize-winning novels,ÌýWashington BlackÌý(2018) andÌýHalf-Blood BluesÌý(2011) as well as the 2004 novel,ÌýThe Second Life of Samuel Tyne. Her works haveÌýbeen finalists for a number of other literary awards, including the Man Booker Prize, the Rogers Writers' Trust Fiction Prize, the Governor General's Literary Award for Fiction and the Orange Prize. The author will be in conversation withÌýAmanda Parris, who writes aÌýweekly column for CBC Arts, hosts three CBC television series (CBC Arts: Exhibitionists,ÌýThe FilmmakersÌýandÌýFrom the Vaults)Ìýand is the radio host ofÌýMarvin's RoomÌýon CBC Music.
