Pierre Hébert Memorial Entrance Scholarship by Norton Rose Fulbright

Remembering Pierre Hébert (1946-2021)

A proud graduate of the À¦°óSMÉçÇø Faculty of Law, Pierre Hébert (BCL 1969) began his career at Ogilvy Renault (which went on to become Norton Rose Fulbright) in 1973, where he remained until recently. Pierre was a supportive mentor and leader; an eminent and trusted advisor; and an outstanding role model and ambassador for the firm. His firm has decided to in his memory.

Pierre Hébert took a personal interest in developing and elevating young talent, helping many build successful careers and laying a strong foundation for their future. Integrity, determination, courtesy, and compassion for others defined him throughout his long career as well as his personal life.

Very involved in his community, Pierre was a member of many boards of directors, including the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the Pointe-à-Callière Foundation, and the Santé Urbaine Foundation.

A family man with a very big heart, he cherished spending time in Magog by the lake sitting on his dock, engaged in many memorable discussions while in the company of those he loved. His infectious laugh and jovial manner will be cherished forever by all who spent time with him. His absence will be keenly felt by the people who admired and loved him, particularly his family for whom he was a beloved mentor. He leaves behind his beloved wife Francine Bélanger, his son Charles (Sabrina Bronfen) and his two adored grandsons, Charles and Henri.

This Entrance Scholarship was established in November 2021 by Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP in memory of dear friend, colleague and senior partner, Pierre Hébert. It will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement to a law student entering À¦°óSMÉçÇø with a primary interest in employment and labour law.
