The table below contains the list of steps to follow for course selection, advising, and registration for newly admitted Special, Visiting and Exchange students. Please read the information carefully. You should also consult the Important Dates and view the information on the Programs, Courses and University Regulations website.

Course Selection and Registration

To be completed by the Course change "Add/Drop" deadline approximately 2 weeks after the start of term. (for Winter please refer to the Important Dates webpage for more information: www.mcgill.ca/importantdates)

Note: You must register for at least one course by the 2nd week of August to avoid late registration fees.

Select your courses using Minerva (you will have to sign in with your SM ID). You can also view course descriptions on the Programs, Courses, and University Regulations website.

Please note that B.Ed Student Teaching practicum courses (EDFE subject code) are not open to students on Exchange.

SM's University-wide Orientation will beginwith Discover SM Day. Some of the events require registration therefore please remember to consult the UNIVERSITY ORIENTATION website for full details.

Education Exchange students should also make an appointment to see the Student Affairs Administrator at the Internships & Student AffairsOffice to start the process of registration.Come to counter 243 on the 2nd floor of the Education building or email isa.administrator [at] mcgill.ca (subject: Exchange%20Student) The Student Affairs Administrator can only provide advising to students taking courses in the Faculty of Education. Students wishing to take courses in other Faculties should contact those Facultiesdirectly.
