The Internship Design Form听(,听) is the key collaborative document where work terms are designed, and also acts as the job posting accessed by student candidates.
Questions to keep in mind when designing internship opportunities:
- Who will be appointed the Site Supervisor?
- What can an intern realistically contribute to our work聽over聽150 hours from January to聽April or May to August?聽
- Will the internship be paid or unpaid? Where can we seek subsidies to provide a salary/honourarium?
- What minimum skills and experience聽does the student bring and need for this position?
- Will the student have other employment or taking courses while doing this internship?
- How can this internship prepare a student for their future career goals/vision?
- What internship experience聽can we provide virtually聽that is still engaging?
- What will be the application period and process for this internship? (i.e. 2-week window, requesting CV and conducting interviews)
