A nine-week introduction to programming in Python

The HBHL Coding Club is open to 捆绑SM社区 graduate students and postdocs working on brain health-related research. This free 补苍诲听beginner-level series is intended for graduate students and postdocs with little to no previous experience in programming to learn the fundamentals of programming in Python.

The series runs for nine weeks and consists of weekly self-guided online lessons, weekly collaborative two-hour workshops held in-person at the HBHL offices (located on the 18th floor of ) and ongoing peer support.

The HBHL Coding Club program includes:

  • Weekly online lessons and activities聽that聽can be done independently at any time during the week and only require聽a computer with internet access.
  • Weekly two-hour small group workshops held in-person in the afternoon聽(4:00-6:00 p.m. EST). These are designed to build on the online lessons鈥攜ou will work collaboratively to solve problems and apply your new knowledge to research-related examples. All workshops will be offered in person at the HBHL offices (located on the 18th floor of ). Please note that accommodations can be made if necessary.
  • Ongoing peer support. Stuck on the online lesson? Have a coding problem at the lab? Discovered a helpful strategy or shortcut? Online discussions between workshops facilitate collaborative troubleshooting and idea sharing.

The total time commitment is up to 8 hours per week.听
