Advisor Information

The Graduate Internship Program for Engineering and Computer Science students is an opportunity for Masters non-thesis students to discover how adaptable their Masters degree is and to demonstrate the skills they can bring to private and public host organizations.

When students participate in internships, they benefit their advisor by translating and adding to the collective knowledge, enhancing employment outcomes for grant applications, and developing industry contacts.

Masters students also return from their internship experience with new and enhanced skills and increased motivation to complete their degree.

If you are an advisor, consider internship opportunities with your graduate students and encourage them to find a company or organization that will be mutually beneficial to your student鈥檚 career goals and the host鈥檚 needs. The Graduate Internship Program for Engineering and Computer Science applications require advisor sign-off.

  • Discuss internship suitability with your graduate student
  • Assist your graduate student in developing their learning goals for their IDP
  • Approve the internship opportunity by signing the pre-approval form
