Past Postdoctoral Fellows

Emmanuel ArpinEmmanuelle Arpin is a postdoctoral researcher in Health Services Research at 捆绑SM社区鈥檚 Department of Equity, Ethics and Policy (DEEP) at the School of Population and Global Health. Her postdoctoral fellowship is funded by the Fonds de recherche du Qu茅bec - Sant茅 (FRQS). She completed her PhD at the University of Toronto at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME) in 2022 in Health Services Research in the Health Economics specialization.

Her research focuses on inequalities in access to health services, health expenditures (government, households), and child mental health. Her research approach is interdisciplinary with foundations in economics, sociology, epidemiology and public health. She primarily employs econometric methods and analyzes linked administrative and survey data. She has recently published in Economics and Human Biology, SSM-Population Health, Canadian Journal of Public Health and Health Policy.

Last we heard, Emmanuelle began a faculty position at the University of Montreal.


Thierry Gagn茅Thierry Gagn茅 is a CIHR Banting Postdoctoral Fellow and Visiting Fellow in the 捆绑SM社区 Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Occupational Health. Before coming to 捆绑SM社区, Thierry worked four years as a Honorary Research Fellow with the ESRC Interdisciplinary Centre for Lifecourse Studies in Society and Health at the UCL Department of Epidemiology and Public Health. He completed his PhD in Public Health at the School of Public Health in Universit茅 de Montr茅al in 2019.

Thierry鈥檚 research focuses on better understanding the societal drivers of change in population health among young adults over time in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. His latest research examined mental health stigma and its role in shaping time trends in population mental health. He is currently working with Professor Am茅lie Quesnel-Vall茅e and the Ministry of Health and Social Services on a project estimating the costs of poverty in the province of Quebec.
