R.E. Wilkinson Award

Awarded annually to a student who has obtained the B.Ed/B.Sc. degree (Physical Education or Kinesiology) from À¦°óSMÉçÇø and (a) is a full-time student entering a graduate program in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education and (b) who best combines academic merit (CGPA), and exceptional professional leadership. Note: academic merit and professional leadership activities carry equal weight in the review of the applications. Given that M.A./M.Sc. students and Ph.D. students are eligible to apply, review of applications will be conducted with consideration to the career stage of the applicant.Ìý

The Federal granting agencies (Canadian Institutes of Health Research CIHR, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council NSERC, and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council SSHRC have harmonized the Masters Canada Graduate Scholarship program (CGS M).

Canada's three federal granting agencies, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) have been working together to harmonize the Canada Graduate Scholarships - Doctoral (CGS D) Programs. The Tri-Agencies have launchedÌýthe first phase of the harmonization, which includes a new common CGS D webpage, harmonized application timeline and program descriptions. ​

David L. Montgomery Award

Award Description

Established in 2007 by family, friends, colleagues, and former students in memory of noted sport and exercise physiologist Dr. David L. Montgomery. Awarded by the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education to a graduate student in Sport and Exercise Physiology.

Eligibility

Awarded by the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education to a graduate student (Master's or Doctorate) in Sport and Exercise Physiology. All applicants must have been a full-time student for at least one semester of the current year. Applicants will be assessed based on academic merit (undergraduate GPA, graduate courses and marks), recent conference attendance and presentations [oral and poster] at international, national, and regional conferences, and community service in sport and exercise physiology.
