Members of the Desautels community came together on February 1, 2019 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel to celebrate this year鈥檚 recipients of the Desautels Management Achievement Awards (DMAA).
This year鈥檚 recipients included:
A step toward saving the vulnerable
Longueuil Police Chief Fady Dagher (EMBA鈥12) has announced the creation of a new intervention and support team for young people who have been or are at risk of being recruited into the sex trade.
Backed by $852,102 over the next five years from the federal government's crime prevention action fund, the team will target victims of sexual exploitation aged 17 and up.
EMBA alumnus highlighted for achievements
Jean-Claude Tshipama聽(EMBA鈥16), CEO of Broadband Africa for Eutelsat, has been named to a list of distinguished Congolese for 2018.
Tshipama is celebrated for his illustrious career, most notably for his recent efforts in expanding access to satellite internet in Africa.

EMBA alumna has sights set on innovative health care
Dr. Nathalie Saad (EMBA鈥14), Chief Pulmonologist for the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Mount Sinai Hospital, has helped devise an innovative healthcare delivery system referred to as the Tele-pulmonary Rehabilitation Program.
The program was developed to address Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), which is among the leading causes of death in Quebec.
EMBA grad is victorious at Battle of Innovators
For their proposed Renewable Autonomous and Modular Energy System (RAMES), Pascal Larose (EMBA鈥18) and other members of the 35th Brigade won first place and $77,000 at the Battle of Innovators, an initiative organized by the Department of National Defense.

EMBA alumna praised for support of French wine industry
Catherine Dagenais (EMBA鈥18) has been named at the top of the list of 鈥減ersonalit茅s du vin鈥 in La Revue du聽Vin de France 鈥 and for good reason.
In her role as President and Chief Executive Officer at the Soci茅t茅 des alcools du Qu茅bec (SAQ), she oversees the annual investment of over $800 million toward importing French wines 鈥 more than any other entity in the world.
EMBA alumna is promoted, makes history
Isabelle Brissette (EMBA鈥10) has been appointed Chief Advisor, Security and Business Resilience at Rio Tinto, becoming the first woman to take on this role for a mining or oil & gas multinational.
In her new position, Brissette will actively mentor, coach and supervise a global team of security professionals, as well as advise senior management and the Board of Security on issues pertaining to resilience strategy and security incidents, among other tasks.
