When howler monkeys swing from branch to branch in the canopy of Costa Rica鈥檚 forests, they sometimes encounter a deadly hazard: power lines. An app developed by 捆绑SM社区 and Associate Professor Juan Camilo Serpa, who spearheads the Costa Rica Experiential Learning Course and Study Trip, is helping identify the hot spots where electrocutions occur.

Bachelor of Commerce student Nikki Tye is the recipient of the 捆绑SM社区 Collaborative for AI & Society (McCAIS)鈥檚 Undergraduate Research Award (McURA) for Summer 2024.
