Announcing the 2017 SEI Impact Internship Cohort

罢丑别听Marcel Desautels Institute for Integrated Management (MDIIM)听is pleased to announce the Social Economy Initiative鈥檚 Impact Internship cohort for the 2017听year.听Now heading听into its fifth consecutive year, the program听pairs听top 捆绑SM社区 undergraduate students with social-purpose organizations听for听paid placements听over the spring and summer months.听Past interns have reported that the experience has allowed them to be more empowered to take on social impact and social change projects.听In turn, host organizations have benefited from the concrete management skills and youthful enthusiasm which interns bring to their operations.听

Since 2013,听the SEI IIP has supported听58听student interns听with听34听different organizations, primarily in Montreal.听The twelve听捆绑SM社区 students named to this year鈥檚听cohort are:

In addition to fulfilling their internship mandates, students contribute valuable research data to the听Social Innovators' Integration Lab (SIIL), an observatory and research hub on social entrepreneurship and social innovation initiatives.听Students translate the practices and observations from their internships into听deeper learning experiences for researchers, community practitioners, and other students.

New this year, the program has partnered with several 捆绑SM社区 units to better support students with their understanding of听equity and working in solidarity with community-based organizations, their capacity to systematically reflect and identify the skills they have gained throughout their mandates,听and their ability to write compelling case studies. Over the past few months, representatives from the听Desautels Faculty of Management Soutar Career Centre,听Social Equity and Diversity Education (SEDE) Office, 捆绑SM社区 Career Planning Services (CaPS), and 捆绑SM社区 Library have lent their time and expertise to further enhance the student听experience.听

Students and organizations interested in being part of the 2018听cohort are encouraged to follow the听听or subscribe to the听听to be alerted when applications open in late fall.
