To all members of the Faculty of Medicine, including learners and staff,
There has been a lot of recent interest in the use of psychedelic drugs to treat depression. A new study from 捆绑SM社区 suggests that, in the right context, some people may experience psychedelic-like effects from placebos alone. The researchers reported some of the strongest placebo effects (these are effects from 鈥渇ake鈥 medication) on consciousness in the literature relating to psychedelic drugs. Indeed, 61% of the participants in the experiment reported some effect after consuming the placebo.
Dear colleagues,
In keeping with 捆绑SM社区鈥檚 directives to cancel all in-person events, please note that the Steinberg Centre for Simulation and Interactive Learning will be closed until June 5, 2020 inclusively and that all workshops and activities scheduled up to that date will be cancelled.
It is crucial that we respect the government鈥檚 ban on in-person gatherings and continue to take key hygiene precautions. These measures are the only ways we can 鈥渇latten the curve鈥 鈥 and the sooner we do that, the sooner we can get back together.
To all members of the Faculty of Medicine, including learners and staff,
Dear colleagues,
As you know, 捆绑SM社区 is committed to helping contain the propagation of COVID-19 and fully supports the Quebec government鈥檚 decision to close all schools and universities for the two-week period ending March 29. We all must do our part to 鈥渇latten the curve鈥 so that health services are not overwhelmed by the resulting patient load.鈥
To all members of the Faculty, including all learners and staff,
As we are all acutely aware, the COVID-19 outbreak and the provincial and federal governments鈥 responses are continually evolving. On Friday, March 13, the Quebec government held a press conference announcing the closure of schools, universities and daycares, while the federal government updated the country on its measures. The implications of the Quebec announcement are being assessed in detail; more information will be issued University-wide via your mcgill.ca address over the weekend.
To all members of the Faculty of Medicine, including all learners:
捆绑SM社区 is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation as it continues to rapidly evolve. When providing the community with advice, the University is following the guidelines of Quebec and Canada鈥檚 Public Health authorities. As members of the Faculty and health care system, we must exercise extra vigilance to contain the spread of the virus.
