Gabriel Gervais (MBA鈥�08) has been named the President and CEO of Club de Foot (CF) Montr茅al, the city鈥檚 Major League Soccer team. Between 2002-08, Gervais was a player for the Montr茅al Impact, a predecessor of CF Montr茅al that played in the United Soccer League and later, the North American Soccer League. After his playing career, Gervais completed his MBA at 捆绑SM社区 Desautels, and went to become a partner at Deloitte.

Desautels alumnus catalyzes crowdfunded bursaries for Lebanese students impacted by financial crisis
In the summer of 2020, the financial crisis in Lebanon deepened when a major explosion rocked the port of Beirut, causing extensive property damage and loss of life. By that time, Lebanese students studying at 捆绑SM社区 were already in a bind 鈥� banking restrictions were limiting the ability of their families to access savings, and provide financial support. Jade Dagher (BSc鈥�89, DipManTour鈥�92, MBA鈥�98) wanted to do something to help.

Desautels alumnus named International Educator of the Year by the Academic of International Business
Resilience. Caring. Integrity. These are the habits that Arshad Ahmad (MBA鈥�81, PhD鈥�2000) seeks to instil in his students. They can make an immediate impact on students鈥� career 鈥� and a positive impact on the people in their lives. Ahmad has been named the International Educator of the year by Academy of International Business (AIB), an organization of international business and management. He is currently the Vice-Chancellor of the Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan, and an EMBA professor at McMaster鈥檚 DeGroote School of Business.

Delinquent payments are a major challenge for small businesses 鈥� but collecting each individual debt is a difficult and thankless task. To make it easier, Dimitri Raziev (BCom鈥�10) co-founded Kolleno. This fintech start-up helps businesses manage their accounts receivable by sending customers email and text reminders to settle unpaid bills, and directing them toward a payment portal. Kolleno uses machine learning to determine which approaches will yield results - from the method of contact to the tone of voice.
