BME Faculty Awards

To help and guide faculty who would like to apply for an award in response to regular OSR 'Call for Awards and Prizes' emails.

BME Fellowships

- Develops policy for distribution of GPS funds for graduate support and submits to the Program Executive Committee for approval (relevant to BBME students having primary supervisor in BME)
- Evaluates student dossiers for internal and external awards

BME Merit

Evaluates the performance reports of individual faculties, scores them according to guideline criteria, and transmits the results to the Department Chair in preparation for the performance meeting with the faculty members.

BME Operations

Implements the academic policy operational procedures and strategic planning as determined by the Department Chair.

BME Recruitment

Responsible for recruiting a new faculty position in Wearables & Digital Health in BME, in collaboration with the RI-MUHC.

BME Safety

- An advisory body that reports directly to the Department Chair and the Central Safety Committee.
- Oversees implementation of Departmental health and safety requirements.
- Evaluates concerns, queries and complaints related to occupational health and safety issues from members of the Department.
- Review reports of accidents, incidents, or occupational diseases in the Department and recommends corrective measures.

BME Space

Planning, advising, and operations related to the space allocation of the BME Department.

BME Technical Services

Planning, advising, and operations related to technical service at the Department

BME Translational Programs

Planning and operations of translational programs in Biomedical Engineering, including the Graduate Certificate in Translational BME, the MedTech Talent Accelerator (NSERC-CREATE), and proposed Master鈥檚 in Translational BME

Education Champions

Members from basic sciences, and health professions provide a driving force in implementing the plan across their respective departments, schools and clinical settings.

Faculty Council (Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences)

- Represents the Department at a forum for discussion of the Faculty鈥檚 governance, strategic direction and general management, as well as for advising and decision-making, where appropriate, on matters relating to its tripartite mission.

Schulich Library Advisory

Advises the Head of the Schulich Library on policy matters relating to collections, services and specific user needs, and to consider questions under review by the Senate Committee on Libraries
