A great way to jazz up a page, especially if there’s a lot of text, is to apply a typographic treatment that you’ll probably recognize from magazine layouts, namely, the pull-quote. With a pull-quote, you take an excerpt of a compelling part of the text and set it apart in a contrasting style. This draws the reader’s attention because it makes the page visually interesting and inviting. It’s a simple but effective technique that you’ll find can yield great results.
This is something that you can easily achieve in the WMS with the “pull-quote” class. All you need to do is locate the portion of text that you want to quote and surround it with a <span> tag that includes the class, like so:

Tips for creating your pull-quote:
- Keep it short – less is more – it will look more attractive and provide just enough content to draw the reader in
- Be picky in choosing the piece of text that will most pique the reader’s curiosity
- Don’t overdo it; depending on the length of the page, one pull-quote can be sufficient to create an impact
