Overview
Offered as both a major and a concentration, Labour-Management Relations and Human Resources聽will give you the tools needed to practice聽human resource management, particularly in a unionized environment.
Not only will聽Labour-Management Relations and Human Resources give you basic training in various aspects of labour聽relations and the聽labour聽market,聽but聽you will also be able to understand聽labour聽law at the federal and provincial levels, negotiate a collective agreement, administer union contracts, settle grievances and prepare to participate in the arbitration process.聽
It will give you a general understanding of the factors affecting employer-employee relations, both at the聽individual聽level and in relation to the socio-economic context in which they occur.聽You will also聽learn the basics of聽human resources issues and planning.
