Ecological Determinants of Health in Society

Overview

The relationship between human health and environmentÌýis a complex, developing field.ÌýWhileÌýthe study of health often falls within the health sciences, the social sciencesÌýalsoÌýplay an important roleÌýin the design, implementation, and monitoring of interventionsÌýwithinÌýsocieties.ÌýÌý

Demographic patterns and urbanization, economic forces, ethics, indigenous knowledge, and an understanding of how social changeÌýis put into actionÌýare all critical if we are to be successful in our efforts to assure health of individuals and societies in the future.
