DENT 615 Knowledge Mobilization in Dentistry (3 credits)

Overview

Dentistry : The principles of implementation science (IS), knowledge mobilization [KM], and theoretical and practical foundations of KM to support the uptake of research utilization to inform evidence-based dental practice and related policy decision-making. Defining IS and KM, the similarities and differences with other related approaches, the relationship between KM and evidence-based practice, the dominant theories, KM models, frameworks, tools and resources. Examination of various patient groups and clinical settings and contexts (e.g., private, public, hospital, community, schools, home) from the perspective of how research evidence can be implemented into daily dental practice using effective KM interventions.
