The SBNH team was delighted to host two international champions of Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare at the Ingram School of Nursing (ISoN), À¦°óSMÉçÇø from December 12 to 13, 2022.ÌýÌý
Elizabeth Bernardino, RN, PhD, is director of clinical care at the Hospital de ClÃnicas Complex and professor of nursing at the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil. Bernardino supports her doctoral students with integrating SBNH into their research and clinical practice.ÌýÌý
Paula Encarnação, RN, PhD, is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Nursing, University of Minho, Portugal. She spearheaded the translation of Professor Laurie Gottlieb’s game changing book, Strengths-Based Nursing Care: Health and Healing for Person and Family, into Portuguese.ÌýÌý
During their time at the Ingram School of Nursing, Bernardino and Encarnação met with ISoN faculty members Annie Chevrier, Heather Hart, Maria Di Feo, and Rosetta Antonacci, as well as staff Ìýand clinical partners working to advance Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare across education, research, leadership, and practice. Their visit was a valuable opportunity to exchange strategies, challenges, successes, and goals related to the implementation of this human-centered approach to nursing and healthcare.Ìý
