As previously communicated, the Tri-Agency (NSERC, SSHRC and CIHR) conducted a financial monitoring review at ��SM�� in 2010 that now requires us to address significant concerns pertaining to the management of grant funds – more specifically, elements of ��SM��’s control framework for the administration of grant funds. A Steering Committee and Advisory Committee at ��SM�� were created to direct and validate solutions proposed by the Tri-Agency Response Implementation Group (TRIG) to address the Tri-Agency recommendations.

At the session held on September 19 with both AMURE bargaining units, the university explained its position on layoffs, end of contracts and recalls of research associates and assistants. This led to questions and several exchanges between the parties. A tentative agreement on the majority of these elements was presented by ��SM��. The parties reached an agreement in principle on the majority of the issues at hand, but were unable to reach an agreement on the notice of termination of employment.
