Sieving for Small Fossils

Learn how to sieve for small fossils with the Redpath Museum's paleontology technician Chantal Montreuil. Once you have mastered the technique of sieving, closely examine your fossil under a dissecting microscope. Does it look different? Would you be able to identify it? Shark teeth, ray teeth, spines, fish scales... what will you find?

Bilingual. For聽children aged 5 and up. Space is limited. Please聽arrive 15 minutes in advance to register at the front desk.聽

You can bring a smock or old shirt and prepare to get muddy!

* Please note that聽you will be handling small fossils. For safety reasons, this activity is not appropriate for children under聽5 years old. Thank you for your understanding.
