Interactions between the language system and the visual system in bilinguals

I鈥檓 Olivia and this year I worked in the Language & Multilingualism Lab under Dr. Titone鈥檚 supervision. Broadly, my project was about the interactions between the language system and the visual system in bilinguals. We know that being bilingual poses unique challenges to cognitive systems, especially the lexicon, but we don't know much about how the bilingual lexicon interacts with other cognitive processes, such as visual information processing. We explored this using a word-cued visual search task and we tracked participants' eye movements while they completed the task using an eye tracker.
