Today, the building houses modern labs and facilities for several departments, including the Sheldon Biotechnology Centre located in its Gatehouse.聽

Project Description:

Renovation of existing laboratories on the 6th and 7th floors.

Project scope:

The project was initially proposed in the Irving Ludmer building (Project 19-070). However, following the initial assessment, it was decided that the location was not suitable for the proposed research. The project now has a revised location in the Lyman Duff building and was assigned a new project number.

Scope of work:

Renovate existing laboratories on the 6th and 7th floor of the Lyman Duff Medical Building to support a research project and equipment, and to conform to the current 捆绑SM社区 design standards for Laboratories and Canadian Biosafety Standards for CL2. The existing layout of the rooms is to be fully modified and modernized to accommodate the program developed in the Pre-design of the research study.聽

A full demolition and renovation is planned (HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
