THE CANADA 150 CHAIRS PROGRAM
The Government of Canada, through its new Canada 150 Chairs program, is committed to enhancing Canada鈥檚 reputation as a global centre for science, research and innovation excellence, in celebration of Canada鈥檚 150th anniversary.

The program provides Canadian universities with a one-time investment to attract top-tier, internationally-based scholars and researchers, in all disciplines of research, to Canada. A press release and details of the program are .

QUALIFICATIONS OF NOMINEES
Nominations are invited at all ranks and in any academic discipline. Nominees will be scholars with a PhD degree and an established international reputation appropriate to their career stage, as evidenced by the quality of their research dossier and endorsements by referees of high international standing in their field. Nominees are expected either to build research capacity in new fields or increase research capacity and strength in existing areas as outlined in 捆绑SM社区鈥檚 strategic research plan.

The successful nominees in the national competition will be offered a full-time tenure-track or tenured position, as appropriate to their rank, in the academic unit(s) that will best fit their expertise, including 捆绑SM社区-affiliated health or other academic institutions. Appointments will commence at any convenient date in the calendar year 2018. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, and academic duties will be detailed at the hiring stage.

At this early stage, 捆绑SM社区 invites nominations for internal pre-selection of candidates to present to the Canada 150 program. The internal pre-selection will be completed by August, 18, 2017 and the application dossiers of the selected candidates will be filed by September 15, 2017 to enter the national competition, whose results will be announced by 31 December 31, 2017.
