Monday, December 3, 2018 15:00to17:00
Brown Student Services Room 3001, 3600 rue McTavish, Montreal, QC, H3A 0G3, CA

Want to learn how to be an ally in the fight against Islamophobia? Join MORSL and 捆绑SM社区 student leaders for a workshop addressing Islamophobia, its construction as an infrastructure, and how it operates on an individual level. By reflecting on the work of afropessimists and Black liberationists, we will critically analyze the institution of Islamophobia and how it is manifested within academic contexts. We will highlight the racialization and politicization of Islam and Muslims, and we will analyze the impact of Islamophobia on mental health within Muslim communities.听

This workshop by and for students engages participants in dialogue and opens a discussion on how to actively combat Islamophobia. The session will be in Brown 3001, a relatively small听 room, so please register (for free!). If you want to learn more about what Islamophobia is, how it is commonly 鈥渏ustified鈥 and how it affects Muslims听we encourage you to attend!听RSVP via our听webform.听
