In this webinar, Professor Jennifer Welsh discussed the strengths and weaknesses of the existing international architecture for managing crises such as COVID-19 and the degree to which we have seen productive forms of cooperation. She also analyzed how the current pandemic is both highlighting the essential role of the state in implementing effective solutions, and reasserting the importance of sovereignty and national citizenship. Finally, the session discussed how the response to COVID-19 could shape broader geopolitical dynamics and future prospects for the reform of international institutions.聽
