Program Description
The Master of Laws (LL.M.) Law (Thesis) offered by the Faculty of Law is a research-intensive program that emphasizes focused and contemporary learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in original thinking, critical reading, and legal writing to either continue their studies or pursue professional opportunities.
In addition to the general option, students may also choose to specialize:
Air and Space Law option: students typically focus their research on a specialized research areas such as legal studies in aviation, air and space law, government regulations, conventions and treaties dealing with these areas
Bioethics option: offers students an interdisciplinary program that emphasizes both the conceptual and practical aspects of bioethics.
Comparative Law option: students may pursue research in areas such as civil, commercial, or human rights law. Note: Availability of this program is subject to relevant courses being offered in a given year.
Environment option: provides students with an appreciation of the role of science in informing decision-making in the environment sector and the influence that political, socioeconomic, and ethical judgments can have.
