The 捆绑SM社区 Global Health Film Festival is back--just in time for World TB Day!

This year we are happy to partner with the 捆绑SM社区 International TB Centre to present the 2019 捆绑SM社区 Global Health Film Festival. Split over two evenings the film festival will explore the often untold stories of the TB community.

Join us Thursday March 21st on 捆绑SM社区's downtown campus, to learn more about how TB is portrayed in film and print media with a panel that includes patient activist Priya Amin. The evening will also feature a screening of the film "TB Unmasked" (), which tells the stories of frontline healthcare workers fighting TB.听

Then on Friday March 22nd, the Film Festival will continue with a screening of "The Necessities of Life (Ce qu'il faut pour vivre)" (). Following the film will be a Q&A session and discussion around the complex legacy of TB treatment in Canada, especially in Indigenous communities. This evening will close the TB Centre Research Day at the MUHC Glen Campus, but all those interested are welcome to attend.

Snacks, including popcorn bar on Thursday, will be provided.

捆绑SM社区 is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous Peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg Nations. 捆绑SM社区 honours, recognizes, and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which peoples of the world now gather. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
