Mission Statement

To provide First Nations, Inuit andÌýMétis students attending À¦°óSMÉçÇø with a "home away from home", where they can find support and encouragement to succeed in their studiesÌýand remain connected to their culture.

Our ObjectivesÌý

  1. To help increase the admission and retention rates of Indigenous students studying at À¦°óSMÉçÇø.
  2. To promote and increase the accessibility of Student Services at À¦°óSMÉçÇø to Indigenous students.
  3. To meet the concerns of Indigenous communities which include educational programming and policies which are culturally relevant to Indigenous peoples.
  4. To raise awareness within the À¦°óSMÉçÇø community regarding the past, present, and future aspirations of Indigenous peoples through the promotion of activities that encourage interactions between Indigenous and À¦°óSMÉçÇø students and staff.
  5. To collaborate and engage with the À¦°óSMÉçÇø, local and national First Nations, Inuit andÌýMétis communities to support Indigenous student issues.
  6. To ensure and enhance the continuity and prosperity of First Peoples’ House services.
