The MFMS Journal is open-access and has a mission to showcase the varied works of the faculty and students of the 捆绑SM社区 Department of Family Medicine.
This journal was started as a unique journal by Drs Pierre Pluye and Roland Grad, two visionary faculty members who presciently saw the need for a journal to promote the academic works of Family Medicine faculty and graduate students. Drs Issa and Wilchesky intend on building on this important tradition and expand the Journal鈥檚 scope to include works produced by residents and other family medicine trainees. They look forward to continuing the unique editorial collaboration with graduate students in the Department.
They invite you to submit your research papers, review papers, commentaries, MSc and PhD theses, conference proceedings, and other work in family medicine studies. They also welcome ideas and suggestions about the journal's content!
About the co-editors
Amalia M. Issa is an internationally renowned scientist and founding Director of the Personalized Precision Medicine & Targeted Therapeutics Institute; one of the world鈥檚 first entities in this field. Dr. Issa pioneered precision medicine decision science and developed innovative tools for studying decision making about precision medicine technologies. She leads teams dedicated to the integration of precision medicine into practice and health systems and to building the science of precision genomics and digital healthcare delivery. Dr. Issa serves on 4 editorial boards, and is a member of the Council of Science Editors. She also serves in leadership positions in several professional associations, and has received many awards and honors for her work over the years.
Machelle Wilchesky is Director of the Donald Berman Maimonides Centre for Research in Aging in Montreal, Canada. An Assistant Professor at the Department of Family Medicine, 捆绑SM社区, and Scientist at the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research, the overarching aim of Machelle 's research program is to improve the clinical nursing and medical care received by frail elderly people with dementia residing in long-term care facilities. She is Principal Investigator of 'The PREvention Program for Alzheimer鈥檚 RElated Delirium (PREPARED) Trial'.
