Prospective Students - B.Ed. Secondary Science and Technology

The aim of the BEd Secondary Education Program is to prepare strong beginning teachers for the secondary school level. This integrated program consists of academic studies, professional studies, and school-based practicum components. All of this is supported by studies in pedagogy, curriculum and educational foundations.

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) - Secondary Science and Technology (120 Credits)

Note for Prospective Students from CEGEP: the Secondary Science and Technology program requires significant background in science courses to complete. We recommend using program prerequisite list in the eCalendar entry above and the À¦°óSMÉçÇø list of CEGEP to À¦°óSMÉçÇø science course equivalencies to ensure that you will have completed your science prerequisites prior to entering the university.

ÌýStudents entering from CEGEP without having completed these prerequisites (or their equivalents) will be required to make up any deficiencies in these courses over and above the degree requirements.

The Four Year Overview is a plan of study for most students in the Secondary Science and Technology program.Ìý It allocates space for completing all of the requirements in your Secondary Science and Technology B.Ed. degree and schedules your field experiences in the correct semesters. Please note, students needing to complete a Freshman yearÌýwill beÌýstarting in year 0, thus,Ìýwill be following a fiveÌýyear study plan.

The Two Year Overview is a plan of study for students who have significant advanced standing (typically students withÌýtransfer credits from other universities), and assumes that all subject area and elective courses have been completed prior to entering the program.Ìý It does not allocate room in your schedule for completing these courses.
