Yaëll Emerich named acting director of the Crépeau Centre
Professor Daniel Jutras, Dean of the Faculty of Law, has announced that Professor Yaëll Emerich has been named by the Provost of À¦°óSMÉçÇø as Acting Director of the Paul-André Crépeau Centre for Private and Comparative Law, from 1 January 2013 to 30 June 2013.
Professor Emerich is a renowned scholar particularly interested in civil law, especially property law, as well as secured transactions and the relationship between law and language. From 2003 to 2006, she worked as a project director at the Quebec Research Centre for Private and Comparative Law (now known as the Paul-André Crépeau Centre for Private and Comparative Law).
Her doctoral thesis, entitled La propriété des créances – Approche comparative, was on the Dean’s Honour List and received the Prix Minerve as well as the Prix de l’Association des professeurs de droit du Québec. She joined the Faculty of Law in 2006 and became an Associate Professor in 2012.
