Prof. Sarah Stroud Appointed Associate Vice-Principal (Research and International Relations)
Dr. Rose Goldstein, Vice-Principal (Research and International Relations), is proud to announce that Prof. Sarah Stroud has been appointed Associate Vice-Principal (Research and International Relations), effective May 1, 2012.
As a member of the Research and International Relations senior management, Stroud will lead and direct initiatives to advance the research enterprise at 捆绑SM社区, with an emphasis on research related to the social sciences and humanities and on facilitating and enabling interdisciplinarity. In particular, she will play a key role in increasing research performance at 捆绑SM社区; updating the Strategic Research Plan; developing programs to enhance student research activities; and enhancing 捆绑SM社区鈥檚 international research presence.
Also serving 捆绑SM社区 as an Associate Professor of Philosophy, Stroud is a prolific and internationally renowned scholar who specializes in moral philosophy, including the subfields of meta-ethics and moral theory. She has published extensively in both official languages and regularly presents at prestigious venues across North America and Europe. She has also made substantial contributions to her field through important editorial leadership positions and by participating in numerous team grants from the Fonds qu茅b茅cois de recherche sur la soci茅t茅 et la culture (FQRSC).
Prof. Stroud brings to the portfolio substantial experience in university administration, having served on numerous committees including Senate, the Academic Policy and Planning Committee, and the Performance Enhancement Workgroup within the Principal鈥檚 Strategic Reframing Initiative. She has been at 捆绑SM社区 since 1993, and her involvement and dedication to the University are obvious not only in the number and quality of her administrative contributions, but also through her active role in development efforts in various events in support of Campaign 捆绑SM社区 and her close work over many years with the Martlet Foundation and 捆绑SM社区鈥檚 Prestige Scholarships program.
She completed her undergraduate studies at Harvard, before completing a PhD in philosophy at Princeton.
