New appointments at the School of Information Studies

The 捆绑SM社区 School of Information Studies is pleased to announce the following appointments:

School of Information Studies Director Prof. France Bouthillier has been appointed Associate Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at 捆绑SM社区, and has stepped down from her roles as Director and Graduate Program Director for the PhD program in Information Studies, effective August 31, 2015. Professor Bouthillier was hired at the School in 1992, and has served as Director since 2004. Under her strategic leadership, the School has evolved to provide education for a wide array of librarian and information professional positions, and has significantly expanded its research activities. Prof. Bouthillier will continue to teach, supervise students, and conduct research at the School.

Prof. Kimiz Dalkir will assume the role of Interim Director of the School of Information Studies from September 1, 2015 through May 31, 2016. Prof. Dalkir joined the School as a faculty member in 2002. She was appointed Acting Director at the School for a six-month term in 2012, and served as Associate Dean for Student Affairs at the 捆绑SM社区 Faculty of Education from 2012-2014. Prof. Dalkir will continue in her current role of Graduate Program Director for the master鈥檚 program in Information Studies. Her teaching and research areas include knowledge management, innovation and collaboration support systems.

Prof. Catherine Guastavino will replace Prof. France Bouthillier as Graduate Program Director for the PhD program in Information Studies, effective September 1st, 2015. Prof. Guastavino has been a faculty member at SIS since 2004. In 2012, she was nominated as the William Dawson Scholar as a recognition of the quality of her research, and served as the Associate Director, Scientific and Technological Research at CIRMMT (Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology) between 2007 and 2009. Her teaching and research areas include human-computer interaction, and auditory perception and cognition.
