Law students Christopher Maughan and Kelly McMillan win AUCC awards

Two students from the Faculty of Law spending the summer abroad working in international development were named recipients of internships prizes from the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC).

The Students for Development awards, valued at $6,500 each, support exchanges with international organizations to promote good governance; seven 捆绑SM社区 students were selected in total, among them law students Christopher Maughan, 3L, and Kelly McMillan, 4L.

Both Maughan and McMillan are spending 12 weeks with their respective organizations, Maughan at the Ateneo Human Rights Center in the Philippines and McMillan at the Refugee Law Project in Uganda, working on human rights investigation, monitoring and reporting. Their placements are undertaken through the Faculty of Law's International Human Rights Internship Program organized annually by the 捆绑SM社区 Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism (CHRLP).
