Anouk Bélanger and Julie Auger appointed axis directors at CIRM
The Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Montréal (CIRM) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new directors for its research-action axes.
First, our associate member Anouk Bélanger becomes director of the “Digital culture, art, literature, and performance” axis. As associate professor in the Department of Social and Public Communication at Université du Québec à Montréal, her research interests include popular cultures, cultural studies, media sociology, and social transformations. This axis was previously led by Will Straw (Communication Studies, SM).
Second, Julie Auger joins CIRM as associate member and co-director of the “Language, belonging, and plurilingualism” axis. As full professor in the Department of Linguistics and Translation at Université de Montréal, her research interests include sociolinguistics, language variation and change, endangered languages, Picard, Québec French, morphosyntax, and phonology. This axis was previously led by Wim Remysen (Letters and Communications, Université de Sherbrooke).
It is worth noting that Julie Auger hosted the Montréal dans les bulles seminar last November, the video recording of which is available on our Multimedia page.
Congratulations to both!
